This weekend, the University of Georgia announced plans to raise funds to help build a new home for former Southern football player Devon Gales. Gales, who suffered a spinal cord injury when Southern played in Athens in 2015, was on campus on Saturday to receive the NCAA Sportsmanship Award.
Gales’ story has had an impact of thousands, both around the Georgia program and outside of it. Even coaches who have left the Bulldogs in recent months have continued to show their support for Gales and his connection to the program. Once such coach is former UGA offensive line coach Rob Sale, who, despite now working at Arizona State, tweeted out his support for Gales’ fundraiser on Sunday afternoon:

Despite no longer working anywhere near Athens, it was certainly a nice gesture by Sale to spread the word, especially to those out west who may never have heard about it otherwise.
