Some Georgia football players absolutely made one fan’s day this week.
Bulldogs fan Stan Lanier shared an adorable picture Thursday of four Georgia players spending time with his 88-year-old grandmother, Edna Lanier, at Piedmont Athens Regional. Linebackers Natrez Patrick (6) and Lorenzo Carter (7), along with defensive end Jonathan Ledbetter (13) and running back Brian Herrien (35), visited Lanier’s grandmother after she had hip surgery.
Edna Lanier, 88, who broke her hip while modeling for a fashion show at the Georgia Club on Tuesday. She’s doing well now, her grandson reports, and after rehab should be 100 percent in three months.
The visit came during a standard community service trip that Georgia has its players take. This one to Piedmont Athens Regional hospital included about 15 players, the team says.
More fans will get a chance for an up-close look at the Bulldogs when Georgia plays its G-Day spring game Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
