ATHENS — Georgia football coach Kirby Smart updated the Bulldogs’ injuries on Monday, ruling out defensive back Tyrique McGhee, who suffered a broken bone in his foot in the first scrimmage.

“Tyrique is running now, underwater, non-weight bearing running,” Smart said, “We’re hopeful to get him back for South Carolina, but he won’t be able to play this game.”

Smart said senior receiver Terry Godwin (knee) is questionable for the 3:30 p.m. opening game on Saturday against Austin Peay.

“Terry is still questionable, we don’t know if Terry will be back, hope to get Terry back,” Smart said.

Godwin missed the first week of fall camp but has seen some limited work.

Receivers Kearis Jackson and Jayson Stanley are also dealing with injuries, Smart said.

“Kearis is dealing with a hamstring, and Jayson is dealing with a quad,” Smart said. “We think they’ll be able to go more.”
