Make no mistake, Georgia football cares very deeply about beating Georgia Tech, and the Bulldogs’ seniors made that clear again on Saturday.

In the final seconds of Georgia’s 45-21 win at home against the Yellow Jackets, Deandre Baker could be seen on the jumbotron holding up a simple message on a white board: “WE RUN THIS STATE.”

Other Georgia seniors were holding up similar signs on the sideline late in the game too. That’s been the common refrain for the Bulldogs over the years when this rivalry comes around. And Georgia has owned the rivalry in recent history.

Georgia has now won eight of the last 10 meetings and leads the all-time series 67-41-5. This is the first time the Bulldogs have won two in a row in this rivalry since 2012-2013.

The Bulldogs were even more dominant than expected in this matchup, surprising fans and media alike.

Next on the schedule for Georgia is Alabama in the SEC Championship Game. The Bulldogs meet the Crimson Tide at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta next Saturday at 4 p.m. ET.
