ATLANTA — Georgia football could get an unexpected lift from inside linebacker Monty Rice if pregame warmups are any indication.

Rice, who leads the Bulldogs in tackles per game but has missed the past two weeks after injuring his ankle during warmups before the UMass game on Nov. 17, was dressed and hitting in pregame warmups.

Rice has a wrap on his hand and a protective sleeve around his ankle.

Tae Crowder and Juwan Taylor were working with the first-team linebacker group, but Kirby Smart regularly uses a committee approach in his front seven on defense.

Rice has 59 tackles in nine games, as he also missed the Missouri game because of a hyperextended knee he suffered in practice.

Georgia football freshman offensive lineman Cade Mays was also in uniform and looking ready to play, working as the No. 2 left tackle behind Andrew Thomas. Mays has been out since suffering a shoulder injury against Kentucky.

It appears freshman Trey Hill will get his third start at right guard, as redshirt sophomore Ben Cleveland was warming up with the Bulldogs’ No. 2 line unit.
