Early Signing Day: Projected Georgia football recruiting 2020 signees, commitments, live updates
The Early Signing Period gets underway on Wednesday, which is the first day 2020 commitments can sign their letters of intent and officially become members of the 2020 recruiting class. The Bulldogs have added a third commitment today, as 3-star offensive lineman Austin Blaske. And 5-star athlete Darnell Washington had a very interesting tweet at the end of the day.
Georgia coach Kirby Smart has spoken with the media and addressed a number of questions.
Georgia enters the day with the nation’s No. 6 recruiting class and 16 public commitments. At least two of those won’t sign, as 5-star offensive tackle Broderick Jones and 4-star center Sedrick Van Pran will wait until February. Georgia is expected to sign around 23 prospects for this recruiting cycle.
The Bulldogs are expected to add a number of commitments on Wednesday as a number of top targets will announce their decisions.
Below you will find live updates on Georgia’s recruiting class including commitments, signees and live updates.

Well this is a cryptic tweet from Darnell Washington. A day after saying he was not going to sign a letter of intent, Washington sent out a tweet that seemed to indicate he was going to sign today. Washington is the No. 11 prospect in the country and perhaps Georgia’s top remaining target. He is set to possibly announce on Jan. 2 at the Under Armour All-American game.

Kirby Smart has met with reporters. Among the talking points he had: He said he did contact Mike Bobo but did not speak with him about any openings on the Georgia staff. Smart said any staff changes will come after the Sugar Bowl. Smart also did not confirm a report about Ben Cleveland possibly being academically ineligible for the Sugar Bowl.
Eric Reed, a 4-star defensive back, will be going to Auburn. He took an official visit last weekend to Athens and is a. 4-star safety. He is a former Ole Miss commit.
Georgia has flipped Jermaine Burton from LSU. He is the No. 52 prospect in the country. He joins Marcus Rosemy, Arian Smith and Justin Robinson in the class. He was an LSU commit. The Bulldogs have the No. 5 class in the country and 18 commitments. After the LSU game, Kirby Smart said Georgia had to get better at wide receiver. The Bulldogs have certainly done that.

Burch ended up picking the hometown team in the South Carolina Gamecocks. Last year the Gamecocks were able to keep home 5-star defensive end Zacch Pickens, making it the second-straight year the Gamecocks have landed a 5-star defensive end. South Carolina also hired Mike Bobo as the team’s offensive coordinator.
Jordan Burch is set to announce his commitment live at 2:30 p.m. ET. You can watch his commitment live here.

Four-star quarterback C.J. Stroud has made his announcement and it is the Ohio State Buckeyes. Georgia had made a late push for his services but couldn’t keep him from the Buckeyes. This means Carson Beck will be Georgia’s only quarterback in the 2020 class. Arian Smith, a 4-star wide receiver out of Lakeland, Fla., is set to announce his commitment at 1 p.m.
I know some had been holding out hope of a flip, but 5-star tight end Arik Gilbert is officially an LSU Tiger.
