The best social media reactions from Georgia’s win over Auburn
The No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs picked up another big win on Saturday, crushing No. 24 Auburn 27-10. In The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry, UGA has now won 11 of the past 14 games, and hasn’t lost at home to the Tigers since 2005.
After another impressive win, a number of Georgia fans took to Twitter to voice how happy they were that the Bulldogs had taken down Auburn once again. There was also some Kirby Smart dancing, quite a bit of trolling and a clip of Auburn coach Gus Malzahn wondering if he’s going to get fired. There’s also the best Georgia football tradition on display, as fans once again lit up Sanford Stadium.

Georgia WR #9 Jeremiah Holloman is the best run blocking WR I have seen in CFB. He is a man!

We also have to point out that a number of people were talking about D’Andre Swift’s awesome performance. The sophomore running back recorded his third consecutive game with 100 rushing yards, as he ran for a career-high 186 yards. Add in his 4 receptions for 43 yards, and he ended the day with 229 all-purpose yards. Some in the media have noted that if Swift is going to continue to do what he’s done against three consecutive ranked opponents, Georgia may have a better shot against Alabama than many initially thought.
And yes, he also had another long touchdown in the fourth quarter—this time a 77-yarder, topping the 64-yard touchdown he had in the SEC Championship game a season ago— to salt the game away. Thanks to Swift’s monster effort, Georgia ran for more than 300 yards for the second consecutive week.

D’Andre Swift is developing quite the REPUTATION, helping Georgia avoid its RED zone problems by running FEARLESS and scoring himself, effectively telling Auburn to SPEAK NOW or else it won’t win like it did in 1989

With the win over Auburn, Georgia now finishes its SEC slate with a 7-1 record for the second consecutive season. The Bulldogs have locked up a spot in the SEC championship game on Dec. 1. They will take on the No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide in a rematch of last year’s national championship game. The winner of this year’s SEC championship game will likely clinch a spot in the College Football Playoff, while the loser will likely miss out. Georgia is the defending SEC champion, after it beat Auburn in last year’s conference title game.
The 9-1 Bulldogs host the Massachusetts Minutemen this coming Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. on the SEC Network. The game can also be heard on WSB Radio 95.5 FM/750 AM.
