Social media reacts to news of Jake Fromm departure, Cade Mays family lawsuit
No one perhaps summarized the afternoon Georgia football is having better than that of offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer.
Woooweee

To recap, Georgia saw quarterback Jake Fromm declare for the 2020 NFL Draft. It also saw offensive lineman Cade Mays enter the transfer portal, with ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reporting Tennessee is the intended destination.
There was also a report from Rivals.com that the Mays family is suing the University of Georgia Athletic Association after Mays’ father had a part of his pinky finger amputated after an incident involving a folding chair at a Georgia athletic event.
Naturally, there were all kinds of reactions to the news, starting with Fromm. Many connected to Georgia took the time to thank Fromm for what he has done with the program, starting with former Georgia quarterback DJ Shockley.

With Jake Fromm turning pro, who is the favorite to win the SEC East?
— Paul Finebaum (@finebaum) January 8, 2020
TIER TWO QB conversation will be fascinating:
Jordan Love – all traits, struggled once Matt Wells left.
Jacob Eason – huge arm, limited tape, inconsistent vs. good teams
Jake Fromm – limited athleticism/arm, experienced, smart, support cast dropped off in '19
— Matt Miller (@nfldraftscout) January 8, 2020
Fromm will join the likes of Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Herbert and Jacob Eason in what appears to be a loaded quarterback class for the 2020 NFL Draft.
In his time at Georgia, Fromm went 3-0 against rival Florida, 3-1 against Auburn, won an SEC championship as a freshman, led Georgia to an appearance in the national title game to go along with three SEC East titles.
He also leaves as the all-time Georgia leader in completion percentage.
As for Mays, Al.com’s Matt Zenitz first reported the news of him entering the transfer portal. Mays is from Knoxville, Tenn., his father played for the school and his younger brother signed with the school as a member of the 2020 recruiting class.
Given that Mays’ offensive line coach, Sam Pittman, is now the head coach at Arkansas and a move to Tennessee would be closer to home, MAys would have a very compelling case to be immediately eligible.

Mays started six games for Georgia this past season, and worked at both guard and tackle. It was widely expected that he was going to be Georgia’s left tackle to start the 2020 season. With him now gone, there is a real chance that a freshman — either Tate Ratledge or Broderick Jones — could start left tackle to open the 2020 season.
Under current SEC and NCAA rules, Mays would have to sit out next season unless he could get a waiver from the NCAA.
There is also the news of the lawsuit against the University of Georgia Athletic Association after the incident with the folding chair. Naturally, there were a lot of varied reactions to the news.
Your family suing the University of Georgia and the UGA athletic association is a pretty good reason you might choose to hit the transfer portal, I guess. 🤷🏻♂️ https://t.co/JOxLci5LiF
