ATHENS — Georgia defensive lineman Travon Walker was spotted pregame with a cast on his left arm.
The Bulldogs’ freshman from Thomaston has made an impact on defense and special teams, showing great athleticism and quickness coming off the ball in a 6-foot-5, 290-pound frame.
The No. 3-ranked Bulldogs play host to South Carolina at noon on Saturday at Sanford Stadium.
Georgia has good depth on its defensive front, but the Bulldogs might also be without nose tackle Jordan Davis, who suffered an ankle injury on the second play of UGA’s 43-14 win at Tennessee last Saturday.
Senior defensive lineman Julian Rochester made his return from offseason ACL surgery against the Vols, however, and Kirby Smart said that helped account for Davis’ absence.
“Last week Julian Rochester stepped up and answered the ball and did a tremendous job,” Smart noted on his Thursday radio show.
