Georgia injury update: Natrez Patrick
ATHENS — Natrez Patrick, who is Georgia’s second-leading tackler, was not with the first or second team during the final pregame warm-ups. The sophomore inside linebacker is in uniform.
Patrick injured his shoulder at Kentucky, but practiced this week, albeit in a black non-contact jersey. Earlier in the week head coach Kirby Smart said he expected Patrick to be fine.
But Reggie Carter, rather than Patrick, was with the first team during Saturday’s final warm-ups, alongside Roquan Smith. Patrick, meanwhile, stood back and watched.
And when the second team went out, it was Juwan Taylor and Johnny O’Neal – and O’Neal had been getting increased reps this weeks during practice.
If Patrick is limited or can’t play, that won’t help Georgia’s ability to stop Auburn’s up-tempo and power-run attack.
