Georgia legend Fran Tarkenton rips Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff
Fran Tarkenton is no fan of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff.
On Monday, Tarkenton tweeted that Goff “isn’t very good at quarterback,” after watching the rookie signal caller play in the Rams’ embarrassing 42-14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Goff completed just 24 of 41 passes for 235 yards with 2 interceptions in the defeat, which dropped Los Angeles to 4-9.
Watched Jared Goff play yesterday. I'm sure he's a great kid – but he isn't very good at quarterback. 1st round draft pick?!

Tarkenton’s opinion holds weight. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1986, so he knows quality behind center when he sees it.
Goff, a former California quarterback who was selected as the first overall pick in the most recent NFL Draft, has completed 75 of 136 passes for 744 yards with 4 touchdowns and 5 interceptions in four games this season.
It’s early, but Goff’s start to his NFL career has been rough. It will be curious to see what comes of him as he matures in the NFL.
Still, Tarkenton’s take is understood. A top pick should produce more, and Dak Prescott’s emergence with the Dallas Cowboys after being selected in the fourth round doesn’t help Goff’s perception.
Time will show if Goff was worthy of his No. 1 selection.
