Georgia moves up in Amway Coaches Poll after winning SEC Championship Game
The Georgia Bulldogs are moving on up in the latest Amway Coaches Poll. That’s what tends to happen when you win the SEC and beat the No. 4-ranked team in the country by 3 touchdowns.
Georgia rose three spots to No. 3 in the final coaches poll of the regular season, moving past Auburn, Wisconsin and Alabama in the process. This likely bodes very well for Georgia and its College Football Playoff chances. Clemson came in at No. 1, Oklahoma at No. 2, Alabama at No. 4 and Ohio State at No. 5. Georgia came in at No. 3 in the AP poll.
The Bulldogs are now 12-1 this season, with the lone loss being avenged on Saturday with a 28-7 win over Auburn. Assuming Clemson, who is the No. 1 ranked team in the country, gets the No. 1 spot in the College Football Playoff rankings, Georgia likely will head to the Rose Bowl and take on Oklahoma in one of the College Football Playoff semifinals.
