Georgia is likely one win away from earning a spot in the 2017 College Football Playoff as the Bulldogs prepare for a rematch against rival Auburn in Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Saturday.

The Bulldogs rose to No. 6 in the College Football Playoff rankings that were released on Tuesday night, while the Tigers, who defeated then-No. 1 Alabama on Saturday, rose to No. 2.

Georgia made sure that no upset was going to happen this past Saturday, blasting Georgia Tech 38-7 in Bobby Dodd Stadium in the regular season finale. The SEC Championship Game will be the second straight week that the Bulldogs have traveled to Atlanta for a game.

Alabama, who has an outside shot at the playoff, dropped to No. 5 after its first loss of the season, while LSU, victors over Texas A&M, moved to No. 17. Mississippi State fell to No. 23 after its Egg Bowl loss to Ole Miss on Thanksgiving night.
