Georgia's Davin Bellamy is taking his 'humble yourself' mantra to the next level.

The Georgia Bulldogs have had a variety of slogans, mantras and inspirational phrases all season, but the one that emerged last may end up with the most commercial success.

That’s because Davin Bellamy, who repeatedly shouted “humble yourself” at Oklahoma quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield following Georgia’s thrilling double-overtime comeback win in the Rose Bowl, has submitted an application to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to trademark the phrase.

TMZ reports that Bellamy filed the application for the trademark on Jan. 4, a couple of days after the Bulldogs returned from the game in Pasadena, Calif.

On Wednesday, Bellamy retweeted a tweet containing the link to TMZ’s report on Twitter.

The process to get a trademark takes some time, but if approved, it would allow Bellamy and only Bellamy to be able to profit from using the phrase on various clothing apparel and other merchandise.

Given his status as a Georgia graduate getting set to enter the NFL draft, any revenue from the venture would not affect his NCAA eligibility.

Receiving the trademark would be a pretty cool way for Bellamy to start out his real-world adult life and professional career.
