Georgia will head into the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry as the No. 2 team in the latest Amway Coaches Poll, as it takes on the Auburn Tigers on the road.

After a fairly easy victory over South Carolina on Saturday, Georgia earned 1,560 points to stay one spot behind the Alabama Crimson Tide, firmly in contention for a spot in the College Football Playoff. However, the Bulldogs will have to beat Auburn to keep pace, and a trip to the Plains will be one of the Bulldogs’ stiffest tests of the season thus far.

Should both Georgia and the Tide win out, however, the two teams will face off in the SEC Championship Game as the top two teams in the country, with an all-but guaranteed spot in the Playoff on the line.

Georgia is joined in the Amway Coaches Poll not just by the top-ranked Crimson Tide, but by its next opponent, No. 10 Auburn. The Tigers beat Texas A&M 42-27 on Saturday.

Mississippi State rose four spots to No. 18 while LSU dropped five spots to No. 25.
