Georgia stayed right in the College Football Playoff race as the Bulldogs remained No. 7 in the latest release of the rankings.

The Bulldogs, who will take on Georgia Tech on Saturday and then travel to Atlanta for the second week in a row to play in the SEC Championship on Dec. 2 against the winner of the Auburn-Alabama game, seem to control their destiny in the playoff picture. A win against either the No. 1 Crimson Tide or a rematch against the No. 6 Tigers, if the Bulldogs are to beat Georgia Tech, will likely earn a spot in the top four.

Mississippi State and LSU also came in the top 25 of the rankings, with the Bulldogs landing at No. 14 and the Tigers following at No. 18. South Carolina made its first appearance in the rankings at No. 24.
