Georgia-Samford keys to game
1. Can Jake Fromm make improvements for Georgia?
Jake Fromm will once again start for the Bulldogs as Jacob Eason is recovering from his injury. Fromm had some freshman moments, specifically two turnovers, against Notre Dame, but he also showed he belonged. If Fromm can play a clean game, while making some of the improvements that come with more reps, Georgia should feel much better about its chances going into the Mississippi State game.
2. Can the Georgia ground game dominate?
Georgia hasn’t struggled to run the ball like it did last year, but none of their talented running backs have run for over 100 yards in a game. A strong game against a weaker foe could do wonders for the confidence of Nick Chubb, Sony Michel or D’Andre Swift.
3. Can Georgia avoid a repeat of what happened against Nicholls?
Last year Georgia was expected to roll over an early season FCS-foe. What the Bulldogs got instead was a game against Nicholls that came down to the final minutes. Samford put some points up against Mississippi State last year, so this is by no means a bad team. But if Georgia is as improved as many think, the Bulldogs absolutely need to dominate this game.
