D’Andre Swift, Mecole Hardman respond to Swift’s first-round 2020 NFL Draft snub
ATHENS — D’Andre Swift made his feelings known after what became a disappointing 2020 NFL Draft night for him.
“Say no more” Swift tweeted out after going undrafted.
Not only was Swift not selected in the first round, but the Kansas City Chiefs added insult to injury by picking LSU tailback Clyde Edwards-Helaire with the final pick of the night.
Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman, Swift’s former teammate, was also taken aback.
Are you telling me out of 32 picks D’ANDRE SWIFT WAS NOT SELECTED 🤦🏾♂️

Some thought the Miami Dolphins, with three first-round picks, would be a logical landing spot for Swift.
Miami, however, went with QB Tua Tagovailoa at No. 5, OT Austin Jackson at No. 18, and then surprised most by passing on Swift at No. 30 and picking Auburn CB Noah Igbinoghene.
There had been some speculation Swift might slip out of the first round on account of only a few teams needing a running back.

Georgia had two of the offensive linemen who blocked for Swift selected in the first round.
Andrew Thomas went No. 4 overall to the New York Giants, and Isaiah Wilson was selected with the 29th overall pick by the Tennessee Titans.
But Swift, who has been hyped-up all week in the Philadelphia media, was forced to sleep one more night as an undrafted NFL prospect.

It was likely just as difficult for his father, who opened the day with a message on social media that indicated he expected his son to be selected in the first round.
TODAY IS THE DAY THAT THE LORD HATH MADE, LET US REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT. TODAY IS THE START OF A LIFE CHANGING DECISION THATS MADE, BUT WE DONT CONTROL ANY OF IT. I ASK GOD TO PUT DRE WITH A TEAM THAT WILL… https://t.co/YMDNeNJFSB
