Georgia TE commit John FitzPatrick tweets well-wishes to Shane Beamer
Not all Georgia tight end commits are mad about the reported departure of Bulldogs assistant Shane Beamer.
Beamer, who has served as Georgia’s tight ends coach and special teams coordinator the past two seasons, is reportedly leaving to join Lincoln Riley’s staff at Oklahoma. Upon that news breaking, Bulldogs tight end commit Luke Ford tweeted, “Wow” in shock.
John FitzPatrick, another Georgia tight end commit, had a different type of tweet on Monday afternoon. He wished Beamer luck in the future and thanked him for helping him during the recruiting process.
Best of luck to Coach Beamer on the new opportunity. Thanks for helping me through the recruiting process! @CoachSBeamer #godawgs

FitzPatrick is a 4-star tight end from Marist School in Atlanta. The Class of 2018 recruit has been committed to the Bulldogs since July 13 and he signed his letter of intent during the early signing period on Dec. 20.
With Beamer leaving Georgia, FitzPatrick and Ford — as long as Beamer’s departure doesn’t affect his commitment status — will have a new assistant to work with next season. That depends on who head coach Kirby Smart hires to fill Beamer’s role.
