Georgia TE Isaac Nauta picks a surprising Super Bowl champion for next season
Well, this is an interesting prediction.
A day after the New England Patriots rallied in historic fashion to beat the Atlanta Falcons in overtime and claim another title, Georgia tight end Isaac Nauta made a far-out prediction on Twitter.
He declared Monday afternoon that the Jacksonville Jaguars — yes, the same Jaguars who went 3-13 this past season — would win it all next year.
Jaguars 2017/2018 Super Bowl champs, calling it right now
— Isaac Nauta (@inauta18) February 6, 2017
Kudos to Nauta for stepping way out on a limb with this selection.
Recently, the Jaguars have struggled to do much of anything. They haven’t had a non-losing season since going 8-8 in 2010. Their most recent winning campaign happened in 2007, when they went 11-5.
Anything is possible, but it’s a stretch to envision Jacksonville making a Super Bowl run under new coach Doug Marrone. Still, if his prediction turns out to be true, Nauta will receive all kinds of praise for this tweet. So keep it in the back of your mind until this time next year.
Nauta had 29 catches for 361 yards with 3 touchdowns this past season.
