ATHENS — Georgia football is hot, literally and figuratively, and so was Coach Kirby Smart after Saturday’s scrimmage.
The first-team offense responded in proper fashion, and a closer look suggests Smart got exactly what he wanted out of the offense’s struggles.
A heightened sense of urgency is not a bad thing for young players on a college football team, and neither is upperclassmen holding underclassmen accountable.
The Zamir White comeback took a big step on Saturday — so big that Smart is now challenging the redshirt freshman in other areas of his game.
What it means is good things, but also, competition for the between-the-tackles and goal-line carries for senior Brian Herrien.
