On The Beat: Closing thoughts on historic win over Notre Dame, promising season ahead
ATHENS — Georgia might not have played its best football game against Notre Dame, but it was certainly one of the most exciting.
There were plenty of positive takeaways.
The No. 3-ranked Bulldogs are 4-0 entering into a bye week, and none of the injuries are of the season-ending variety.
The team has answered several offseason questions from a personnel standpoint, and the halftime adjustments in the win over the Irish were impressive.
That said, Smart made it clear last summer this team would be a work in progress, with his “Do More” slogan, and assertion that “if it ain’t broke, make it better.”
That’s exactly what will happen between now and Georgia’s next game at Tennessee at 7 p.m. on Oct. 5 in Knoxville.
Here are closing thoughts on how the Bulldogs are in great shape moving forward, and why quarterback Jake Fromm should and probably will be airing the ball out more during the October portion of the 2019 football schedule.
