Georgia receiver signee Marcus Rosemy caught a 19-yard touchdown pass in St. Thomas Aquinas’ win over Saint Louis (Hawaii) in a national showdown on Saturday night.

Rosemy, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound prospect, is one of three Top 100-rated receivers the Bulldogs signed last Wednesday and is expected to make an immediate impact in the Georgia pass game after enrolling in June.

Rosemy’s touchdown catch came in the second quarter of the GEICO State Champions Bowl Series game in Las Vegas that pitted his Fort Lauderdale school against a Hawaii powerhouse that had won 38 consecutive games and four consecutive Open Division state championships.

It was one of a team-high three catches Rosemy made in the game for 44 yards.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart was referring to Rosemy when he characterized the early signing class as having a competitive nature.

“Some great competitors,” Smart said. “I think four guys played for state championships. Two guys won state championships.”

Saint Louis quarterback Jayden de Laura, a Washington State signee, had put his team on top, 13-7, before Rosemy’s catch TD grab gave his Raiders a lead they wouldn’t relinquish the rest of the night.

St. Thomas Aquinas won the Florida 7A state championship just eight days earlier, beating Edgewater (Orlando) 28-23 in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Rosemy came up big in that game, too, intercepting Edgewater’s final pass attempt in the end zone to preserve the win.

Minutes earlier, Rosemy hauled in an 11-yard touchdown pass with 6:04 left to pad the lead at 28-17.

The South Florida 4-star prospect, ranked the No. 7 receiver and No. 41 overall player in the nation according to the 247Sports composite, picked the Bulldogs over the Gators last June.

Rosemy ran he 40-yard dash in a laser-timed 4.59 seconds last summer in Opening testing and displayed a 35-inch vertical leap.
