WATCH: WJCL-22 TV shows Richard LeCounte lll surprise visit with young heart patient
ATHENS — Georgia football preseason All-American candidate Richard LeCounte lll proved just as much a star in the community service field on Thursday in Atlanta, per a WJCL-22 news story.
LeCounte, who anchors what’s expected to be the top defensive unit in the country this season, made a surprise visit to 10-year-old Destiny Maney the night before she is scheduled to have open heart surgery.
Ashley and Jeremy Maney, Destiny’s parents, told the Coastal Courier that their daughter is a big fan of Georgia football and Richard is her favorite player.
According to the WJCL-22 story, Ashley Maney reached out to Richard LeCounte’s mother, Erika, who set up a Face Time call between Richard and Destiny.
LeCounte was set to met his young fan at the G-Day Game, but the meeting didn’t take place on account of the annual spring scrimmage being canceled on account of Covid-19.
WJCL aired a Tik Tok video Richard LeCounte and Destiny made together on Thursday.
