ATHENS — If nothing else, Lorenzo Carter validated Thursday night that he and the Bulldogs are fully focused on football.
The junior outside linebacker was asked after Georgia’s 14th spring practice for his reaction to the news that Ludacris had been tabbed to provide the pregame entertainment for Saturday’s G-Day Game. Carter was caught off guard.
“Ludacris? That’s who’s performing?” Carter said excitedly. “Oh, snap! I didn’t know that.”
Hearing of the timing of the event, Carter realized he’ll be in the locker room when the Atlanta-based rapper is conducting his show.
“I might sneak out there and try to stretch or something,” he said with a laugh.
That said, Carter couldn’t remember the last time he listened to any Ludacris music. He drew a blank when asked what was his favorite tune.
“I haven’t even listened to Ludacris since like seventh grade,” Carter said with a laugh. “I’m a baby. But I’m about to go put on my Ludacris Pandora since I know he’s coming now.”
Ludacris’ most popular music, including his single from the 2 Fast 2 Furious soundtrack, “Act A Fool” (2003), was produced in the early 2000s. However, the native Atlantan, also known by his given name of Chris Bridges, has produced hits as late as 2013’s “Rest of My Life.”
