ATLANTA — Georgia cornerback Malkom Parrish may not be able to play in the SEC Championship Game.

Parrish has not been getting pregame reps. Other Georgia players have been approaching him and hugging him.

Parrish is a 5-foot-10 senior from Quitman who started during his sophomore and junior years. He then broke a bone in one of his feet during this preseason and missed the first three games, not returning to a starting spot until later in the season.

Tyrique McGhee started in Parrish’s place the first part of the season. Aaron Davis was working at left cornerback in Georgia’s base defense. Davis normally plays that, and then Parrish comes on in the nickel defense, with Davis sliding over to nickelback.

Meanwhile, in other injury news for Georgia, fullback Christian Payne is out. Payne, a senior, is not dressed out after incurring an undisclosed injury during the team’s win at Georgia Tech last week.

Auburn’s Kerryon Johnson is fully dressed, and he is warming up, but was doing so gingerly.
