ATHENS — Senior safety Quincy Mauger and freshman tight end Charlie Woerner were side-by-side on exercise bikes on Tuesday. That may not be the case for much longer.

Both Mauger and Woerner are dealing with ankle sprains and regarded as day-to-day, head coach Kirby Smart said after Tuesday’s practice.

Mauger’s injury has caused the team to try Aaron Davis at safety, though that’s not a drastic move, as Davis has played all over during his time at Georgia.

Woerner is one of five scholarship tight ends, and could be a candidate for a redshirt, though there’s been no indication of that yet.
