Isaac Nauta and Rodrigo Blankenship could not be more different in terms of size and stature but both were recognized for their play on the field this season.

Both players were named to FWAA Freshman All-American team on Monday, with Nauta at tight end and Blankenship at kicker.

Nauta was a five-star recruit hailing and roommate with Jacob Eason. He hauled 29 catches and 361 yards, which were both good for third on the team. Nauta’s three touchdown catches were the second most on the team this season.

Blankenship, a redshirt freshman, walked-on to the team and made 14 of his 18 field goal attempts this season. His season highlight came against Kentucky when he connected on all four of his field goal attempts and was named the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week.

The kicker has gained some notoriety in recent weeks due to not receiving a mid-year scholarship.

Georgia’s two representatives are tied with Ohio State and Florida for the most on the team.
