Former UGA star J.J. Holloman doesn’t play for the Bulldogs anymore, but his heart is still clearly with his former teammates.

Holloman, who was abruptly dismissed from UGA this past summer after an off-the-field issue, made the trip to Jacksonville on Saturday to watch the Bulldogs dismantle the Florida Gators. He watched from the stands.

The talented receiver captured the experience with an Instagram Story, including videos of Brian Herrien’s circus catch and alleged Florida fans fighting with each other in the stands.

Holloman now plays football at Florida International, located in Miami. He is sitting out this season due to NCAA transfer rules, and will have two years of eligibility remaining. Florida International played at noon on Saturday, opening up the opportunity for Holloman to travel 305 miles north to observe his former team.

There were super-high expectations for Holloman at UGA this season, as he was the team’s top returning receiver. He was arguably the best Bulldogs’ receiver since Javon Wims, and a top contender to earn All-SEC honors. He is still considered a solid NFL prospect, despite his departure from UGA.

UGA lost its top five receivers from last year’s team, leading to many of quarterback Jake Fromm’s recent struggles. Fortunately for the Bulldogs, grad transfer Lawrence Cager has emerged as a top weapon, becoming a fan favorite after catching 7 passes for 132 yards and one touchdown in Saturday’s win over Florida.

In last year’s win over Florida, Holloman had a breakout performance with two touchdown catches.

In Holloman’s video on Saturday, a Georgia fan can be heard saying, “I miss watching you, man. I miss watching you.” Holloman replied, “Thanks.”
