Georgia fans send heartfelt goodbye messages to Jacob Eason
Jacob Eason is headed to Washington.
On Tuesday, the move was officially revealed, ending questions about the former Georgia quarterback’s future following the rise of Jake Fromm in Athens. Eason’s path has been well-told. He was a 5-star member of the Class of 2016, and he arrived as the assumed face of the future for the Bulldogs at his position.
But after throwing for 2,430 yards with 16 touchdowns and 8 interceptions during the 2016 season, he sustained a left knee injury in Georgia’s season-opening victory against Appalachian State last September. The development allowed Fromm to become the Bulldogs’ starting quarterback. Fromm went on to lead Georgia to an SEC title, a Rose Bowl victory against Oklahoma and an appearance in the National Championship Game against Alabama during the 2017 season.
As expected, many Georgia fans used Twitter to react to the official announcement of Eason’s transfer. We’ve collected a few messages sent to Eason below.
Good luck. Thank you for your time in Athens! #GoDawgs
