Georgia quarterback Jacob Eason is just entering his sophomore season and will need to improve to live up to the billing that comes with being one of the top prospects in the 2016 signing class, but the pro scouts love what they see in him.

That holds true at WalterFootball.com, which has Eason going No. 1 overall in the latest 2019 NFL Mock Draft.

The site predicts that the New York Giants will be the team to pick the strong-armed Eason. The last time the Giants took a quarterback in the first round was in 2004, when they draft Phillip Rivers out of NC State. The Giants would end up trading Rivers for Eli Manning the same day, with Manning leading the Giants to two Super Bowls.

Eason ended up winning the starting job as a freshman in Athens, throwing for 2,430 yards and 16 touchdowns to eight interceptions. With a year of experience under his belt, along with the return of running back duo Nick Chubb and Sony Michel, Eason is expected to help the Bulldogs contend for the SEC East title this upcoming season.
