Kirk Herbstreit praises Jacob Eason, Nick Chubb
Kirk Herbstreit took notice of the Bulldogs season-opening win against North Carolina.
Herbstreit was asked on Twitter what he thought of the Bulldogs 33-24 win over the No. 22 Tar Heels. He praised Chubb, Eason and the team for its comeback.
“Great to see Chubb back and running hard. And the kid Eason played very well,” Herbstreit tweeted. “Dawgs showed a lot of heart!”

Chubb ran for 222 yards and two touchdowns. It was his first game since injuring his knee against Tennessee last season. It was also the 14th time in his career that he has topped 100-yards in a game.
Eason, who was making his collegiate debut, completed of 8 of 12 passes for 131 yards and a touchdown. Eason did not start, but he played a key role in helping the Bulldogs retake the lead.
Eason, Chubb and the Bulldogs return to action next Saturday against Nicholls State. The game will be the first home game of the Kirby Smart era.
