Georgia thrashed Florida on Saturday and it was a historic demolition by the Bulldogs.

The 42-7 victory was the largest in series history since Georgia clobbered the Gators 44-0 in 1982. The Bulldogs went on to play for the national championship that year — they lost to Penn State in the Sugar Bowl.

The Bulldogs are 8-0 and almost certainly will be in the top 4 when the initial College Football Playoff rankings are released Tuesday night.

Earlier this season, Georgia beat Tennessee, 41-0. The combined 83-7 margin is the largest over those two schools since 1968.

The Bulldogs return home next week to face South Carolina at 3:30 pm ET on CBS.
