Lorenzo Carter’s broad jump at NFL combine best ever for edge rusher
Former Georgia outside linebacker Lorenzo Carter had a remarkable overall performance at the NFL combine in Indianapolis over the weekend, and one of the events yielded a record for Carter.
According to AJC.com’s Alex Makrides, Carter’s 10-foot, 10-inch broad jump was the best ever for a player at his position of edge rusher.

Along with his record-setting jump, Carter also made waves throughout the other drills, turning heads with his size, measurables and speed.

At nearly 6 feet 5 inches and 250 pounds, Carter zoomed through his 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds officially, a faster time than both former Georgia running backs Nick Chubb and Sony Michel.

As mentioned in the video of his 40, Carter ran a full tenth-second faster than former Bulldogs teammate Leonard Floyd, who was drafted in the first round by the Chicago Bears in the 2016 draft.
After a very productive season and great display at the combine, Carter’s stock likely has risen significantly. NFL teams will covet his size, athleticism and versatility.
