LSU won’t be undefeated when it hosts Georgia football next week.

Florida beat LSU 27-19 on Saturday to hand the Tigers their first loss of the season. The Gators executed a trick play perfectly to set up a go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter, with quarterback Feleipe Franks catching a pass to give Florida first-and-goal. Lamical Perine scored a 2-yard rushing touchdown on the next play to put Florida ahead 20-19.

The Gators sealed the victory with a 25-yard pick-six by Brad Stewart Jr. with 1:45 remaining in the game to make it 27-19.

The win takes a little of the shine off Georgia’s matchup with the Tigers next week. However, it makes the game against Florida in Jacksonville on Oct. 27 even bigger. A win over a top-five opponent makes it clear that the Gators have to be taken seriously as an SEC East contender.

Georgia is 5-0 and 3-0 in the SEC heading into tonight’s game against Vanderbilt. The Gators are 5-1 and 3-1 in the conference, while LSU drops to 5-1 and 2-1 in the league.

The Bulldogs will face the Tigers on the road Oct. 13 at 3:30 p.m. on CBS.
