LSU’s Tory Carter ejected for dirty hit on UGA’s Walter Grant
LSU’s Tory Carter was ejected from the SEC Championship after being penalized for targeting against UGA’s Walter Grant.
The dirty play happened on the opening kickoff of the second half. UGA kicked off, Grant ran down the field, and – at the last second – Carter charged Grant and planted his helmet underneath Grant’s chin.
Grant obviously went down and was later escorted off the field. A report from the UGA says Grant has a concussion.
To the credit of the SEC referees, they reviewed the play and both penalized and ejected Carter from the game for targeting.
Carter is a backup fullback for LSU from Valdosta, Ga.
