As fully expected, the Atlanta Falcons’ surprise signing of former UGA star Todd Gurley went over very well with Bulldogs fans.
One of the first to praise the move was Mark Richt, who was Gurley’s coach at Georgia:
If I am a Falcons fan or a Georgia fan I am jumping for joy right now!! Welcome back Todd Gurley!

From noted Bulldogs die-hard fan Ric Flair, the retired professional wrestling star:

Former UGA quarterback D.J. Shockley, who also played for the Falcons:

Here’s Dell McGee, who was hired as UGA’s running backs coach after Gurley had left for the NFL:

Gurley’s deal with the Falcons is for one year at $5 million, per multiple reports. Some NFL experts may think that’s too much money for a 25-year-old running back who has been hindered by a knee injury over the last two seasons. However, the Falcons will likely see a surge in local interest and ticket sales from UGA fans
Most importantly, Gurley’s Falcons jersey should also sell very well, as you can see below (Note: You may want to hold off on buying that Gurley jersey until AFTER the team reveals it’s new uniform design next month).
I have never owned a football jersey.
I'm about to own an Atlanta Falcons throwback Todd Gurley jersey.
