Matthew Stafford can earn a sizable workout bonus this spring in time to welcome his third child.
On Tuesday, it was revealed that the former Georgia star and current Detroit Lions quarterback is eligible for a $500,000 bonus if he takes part in 90 percent of the team’s formal workouts this spring, as reported by the Detroit Free Press’ Dave Birkett. Stafford is one of 14 Detroit players who can earn workout bonuses of at least $100,000 this year.
Word about the bonus was reported on the same day that Stafford and his wife, Kelly, announced that they are expecting their third child this summer. Stafford is the father of twin daughters, Chandler and Sawyer.

There are so many things parents need to welcome a new family member into the world: food, clothes and, of course, diapers. Many, many diapers.
Here’s guessing Stafford will find plenty of ways to use that $500,000 if he cashes in on the workout bonus this spring.
