Matthew Stafford reveals the one essential item he’ll be splurging on with his $135 million contract
Matthew Stafford is now the richest player in the history of the NFL with a five-year, $135 million extension from the Detroit Lions.
However, instead of buying anything lavish for himself, the former Georgia quarterback is putting his children first.
Stafford, who’s now the father of two identical twin girls who were born in March, didn’t hesitate in identifying the likely source where much of that newfound cash will be going towards.
Stafford told MLive Media’s Kyle Meinke that daddy’s little girls are bound to put a dent in his wallet.
Stafford, when I asked him how he'll treat himself after the big deal: "A bunch of diapers."

Stafford’s wife Kelly should be quite pleased to hear this. As most parents can attest, you can never have too many diapers.
The Lions begin the season on Sept. 10 vs. the visiting Arizona Cardinals.
