Georgia missed out on landing a 5-star player it wanted previously on Early Signing Day, but the same didn’t happen with 5-star linebacker Nakobe Dean.
Dean committed to the Bulldogs on Wednesday afternoon.
The Mississippi native is the No. 1 inside linebacker in the 2019 recruiting class based on the 247Sports composite rankings. He is also the No. 14 overall player around the country in the class.
Anytime a program lands a 5-star commitment, it’s huge news, but Dean addresses a need as well. At times, Georgia struggled to stop the run, and that’s because it had to replace departed linebackers from the 2017 SEC Championship team such as Roquan Smith.
