ATHENS — Nick Chubb passed one former Georgia great Saturday, but he’ll need another month to pass his former teammate.

It might not take more than one carry, though.

Chubb passed Garrison Heart for third on Georgia’s all-time rushing list on Saturday. But he stalled three yards away from second-place, Todd Gurley.

Entering the bowl game, Gurley has 3,285 rushing yards, after gaining 88 yards on 22 carries in Saturday’s game against Georgia Tech.

Chubb passed Hearst (3,282 career yards) in the first half. Herschel Walker, of course, sits way ahead in first place with 5,259 career yards. That’s also the SEC career record.

After Saturday’s game, Chubb said he was aware of where he stood on the rankings, but that he didn’t care.

“Yeah I knew, but I don’t want to think about that,” Chubb said. “I just wanted to come out here and get a win.”
