Nick Chubb recalls emotional speech he gave Georgia teammates before Tennessee game
A speech like the one Nick Chubb gave to his teammates last Friday inspired his teammates.
They were still in Athens, Ga. before going to Knoxville to play Tennesee, where they would knock off the Volunteers 41-0. It was two seasons ago in Neyland Stadium when Chubb suffered his gruesome leg injury which would take him out for the season. He didn’t play in 2016 against Tennessee either as the injury continued to nag him even though he had played earlier in the season. Then he witnessed his team lose on a last-second hail mary.
It’s safe to say Nick Chubb had some bad times at Neyland Stadium until last Saturday. Chubb recalled his Friday speech to the team on The Paul Finebaum Show Wednesday.
Just going into meetings, I told them how I felt about the game and my past memories in Neyland Stadium. Just all the things I went through following that injury and how I approached it. It was just an emotional speech to the team about how I felt about everything.
Chubb, of course, finally had his day against Tennessee, rushing for 109 yards on 16 carries.
