Oklahoma RB Rodney Anderson strongly denies alleged sexual assault reports on newly created Twitter account
Oklahoma running back Rodney Anderson has taken to Twitter to explicitly deny the reports of his involvement in an alleged sexual assault.
The fact that he denied the reports on Twitter wouldn’t normally be as big a part of the story, but Anderson decided to create an account solely to oppose the reports about him.
Tuesday morning, reports surfaced that Anderson, although not yet charged, is currently under investigation for an alleged sexual assault that took place in November of this year.
Here is Anderson’s tweet:
In my wildest dreams, I never thought I'd have to set up a Twitter account to defend myself. In the most possible straightforward and honest manner, I did not do this.@espn

Obviously many fans will have initial doubts as to whether this account is actually Anderson, but the tweet has been retweeted and/or quote tweeted by numerous Oklahoma football players as well as Anderson’s mother. Further, Anderson has an already well-established Instagram page, on which he posted a screenshot of his tweet on Tuesday afternoon.
This story has developed quickly since reports of a protective order being filed against Anderson surfaced on Monday.
Anderson and the Sooners will play the Georgia Bulldogs in the Rose Bowl Game on New Year’s Day.
