ATHENS — Here are quotes from Georgia’s 13-7 victory over Auburn Saturday:

Georgia running back Nick Chubb on the defense: “Those guys are amazing. We know those guys would hold them up, and they did. (Auburn) scored one touchdown on us, so we knew it was on us to make some plays, and we were able to do that.”

Georgia coach Kirby Smart on quarterback Jacob Eason: “He’s growing. He’s getting more confidence and he’s getting better with each game. He’s an intelligent kid. We need to keep putting him in situations to be successful. He’s competitive with a calm, cool demeanor.”

Chubb: “We told ourselves a few weeks ago we were going to run the ball and we were going to be successful. Since then, we’ve been running the ball very well.”

Georgia punter Brice Ramsey: “We can’t end the season right here. We have to keep on pushing forward.”

Auburn coach Gus Malzahn: “We didn’t get it done. We didn’t execute very good. We didn’t do a very good job offensively. That was obvious.”

Auburn offensive lineman Alex Kozan: “They brought some exotics a few times that got us. For the most part, it comes down to getting first downs, and in the second half, we didn’t get first downs. So that speaks for itself.”

Auburn running back Kerryon Johnson: “This one hurts. Everybody loses sooner or later. We just got to take it in stride and get better next week.”

Kozan on Georgia’s defense: “They are solid. Good players and they are young, but they are really solid. Credit their coaches and their defense. They did a great job tonight. The pick six definitely changed the momentum, and from there we couldn’t get a rhythm on offense.”
