ROSWELL, Ga. — Houston County was part of the Corky Kell 7-on-7 event Friday. That meant a chance to check out UGA quarterback commit Jake Fromm against some top-tier competition.

Fromm recently was named as one of the prestigious “Elite 11” quarterbacks after competing with 23 of the nation’s other top prep passers.

How did he look on Friday? Pretty good. Even though a young-and-getting better each day corps of receivers surely could have helped him out more. There were several drops in the morning session.

The not quite 6-foot-3 and 218-pounder is rated as the nation’s No. 3 Pro-Style passer for 2017. He was initially committed to Alabama but soon flipped to Georgia after Kirby Smart was hired by UGA.
