The Georgia Bulldogs and head coach Kirby Smart got great recruiting news Saturday, as they landed a commitment from 2019 linebacker JD Bertrand.

Bertrand, who has a 4-star ranking per 247Sports, committed to the Bulldogs over offers from LSU, Tennessee and North Carolina. The linebacker hails from Roswell, Ga., and is listed at 6-foot-1.

With Bertrand’s commitment, Georgia has the No. 3 recruiting class for the 2019 cycle. The Bulldogs already have a commitment from 5-star defensive end Nolan Smith.

It’s the second commitment this week for Georgia, who landed 2018 tight end John FitzPatrick on Thursday. The Bulldogs have the No. 11 class among SEC teams for the 2018 cycle.
