One of the state’s top cornerbacks has begun setting up unofficial visits for the fall, and it’s likely that UGA will be on his schedule.

Jaytlin Askew, a 4-star from McEachern High School, confirmed to the AJC on Wednesday that he’ll be taking unofficial visits to Tennessee,  FSU and Duke in the coming weeks.

The 5-foot-9, 170-pound cornerback says he’ll also visit UGA sometime soon with a teammate from McEachern, though he’s unsure who will accompany him and when that visit will take place.

Askew has yet to receive an offer from the Bulldogs, but told the AJC in a recent interview that he’s hoping that will change soon.

“UGA is always around us, of course, because we have so many recruits with UGA,” Askew said in the interview. “(Conversations have) been great. I’m hoping I can further that relationship with them.”

Askew will be in attendance for Tennessee’s home-stand against Western Carolina on Sept. 19, and will later visit both Duke and FSU sometime in October.

He’s rated as the No. 35 player in the state for the class of 2017.
