Aubrey Solomon is one of the state’s top prospects in 2017, and he has two co-leaders at the top of his list.

Solomon, a 4-star defensive tackle from Lee County, told the AJC that UGA and Ole Miss are his leaders.

“They’ve been showing quite a bit of love ever since I was a freshman,” Solomon said. “I like that they still look at me as a priority and have been showing their love for my three years I’ve played varsity.”

One of Solomon’s Lee County teammates, offensive lineman Chris Barnes, is currently committed to UGA. Solomon says Barnes has tried to sway him to UGA.

“Me and Chris talk every day about possibly playing together in college,” he said.

On why UGA is listed as a leader: “I really like how they’re not just football first. They want to see their athletes develop into mature adults before anything.”

On why Ole Miss is listed as a leader: “I haven’t visited them yet, but some of the coaches have hit me up and there was just an instant connection between us.”

The state’s No. 13 prospect in next year’s recruiting class was supposed to release a top five on Thursday but chose not to because he says it wasn’t the right time.
