4-star Georgia tight end signee Luke Ford shocked by news of Shane Beamer’s departure

The Georgia football program received somewhat of a surprise Monday afternoon when news broke that tight ends coach and special teams coordinator Shane Beamer will be taking a position on the Oklahoma Sooners coaching staff.

But perhaps most shocked was a future Bulldogs tight end who was prepared to be groomed at his position by Beamer.

Luke Ford, a Class of 2018 Georgia signee and the No. 3-ranked tight end in the nation by 247Sports, showed his shock and unhappiness with the news with a tweet and a subsequent retweet on Monday, shortly after reports of Beamer’s departure surfaced.

The retweet, which Ford has since deleted, indicated that there may have been some lapses in communication between Beamer and Ford.

Ford is a key member of the Georgia 2018 recruiting class, which currently ranks No. 1 in the country.
