The “Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry” renews on Saturday. Who will win? We asked a few UGA commitments and some of its top recruiting targets to share who they think comes out on top inside Jordan-Hare Stadium at Auburn.
These guys might not know about the water hoses or the umpteen overtimes in 1996 or that famed “sugar falling from the sky” call by Larry Munson, but they do know football.
DISCLAIMER: No one mentioned the Titanic scoreboard at Auburn this year. It appears they do not think a grocery store sized-TV will be a factor.
Who wins on Saturday? UGA or Auburn?
Ben Cleveland (2016 4-star OL, UGA commit): “It will be a close game. I feel like it is going to come down to a big special-teams play. Georgia wins 30-21.”
Trey Blount (2017 4-star WR, undecided): “Georgia 27-20. I believe it is going to be an even game but Georgia’s secondary will make a big difference this week and cause some turnovers.”
Grant Holloway (2016 3-star WR, undecided): “UGA in favor of the win 28-21. Defense will be the reason they win.”
Jake Lawler (2017 4-star DE, undecided): “Go Dawgs, 24-14. Their defense has been playing well and after the game I witnessed (against Kentucky) they can get it going on offense.”
Nate McBride (2017 5-star LB, undecided): “UGA will win 27-21. I have a feeling Sony Michel is going to go off.”
Xavier McKinney (2017 4-star DB, Alabama commit): “Georgia 14-10. Auburn has lost its focus on the season with all the distractions.”
Demetri Moore (2016 3-star OT, undecided): “If Georgia plays like it is supposed to I think they may come out on top, but it just depends if they do what they are supposed to do. It is going to be close. Especially if Auburn plays like it did last week.”
Tre’ Nixon (2016 4-star WR, undecided): “That’s a tough one. Don’t want to short-change either team. Whoever wins the turnover battle gets the ‘W.’”
Charlie Woerner (2016 4-star WR, UGA commit): “24-21 UGA. (It is) traditionally a great game.”
